The Canadian Light Source (CLS) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan. CLS produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions, working on everything from dinosaur skins to mine remediation and from cancer treatments to cutting-edge electronics.
The Canadian Light Source currently has an opportunity for post-secondary students to work 1 to 5 hours per week, on a casual basis, as an outreach student/tour guide. We are looking for students who love science and want to share their passion. We are looking for a diverse team to share our facility\xe2\x80\x99s research with the public. This position will be for both the spring, summer, and fall 2023/2024 terms. f you are available for the winter term as well, then that is an asset.
As members of the Outreach team, reporting to the Communications Coordinator and as part of the Executive Support Office, Outreach Students provide tours, highlighting the range and depth of CLS research. Outreach Students also assist with occasional educational and public events. We are looking for students with a flexible schedule who can be available to work primarily during business hours on weekdays (and during the occasional evening or weekend).
This position offers flexible work hours that accommodate your schedule. You can select which tours you lead based on your availability. Please note that most tours take place during business hours on weekdays.
