We are seeking a dedicated and organized Summer Student to assist with events, projects, and initiatives that align with Simpcw traditions and the prevention framework. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Social Development program.



Job Summary Simpcw First Nation is seeking a motivated and reliable student to join our team as a Summer Student Administrative Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional office, build skills in communication, organization, and teamwork, and contribute to meaningful community work.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide administrative support such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and scanning Greet visitors, answer phones, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff Assist in preparing reports, letters, and meeting documents Support event logistics and community program coordination Maintain confidentiality and represent Simpcw values with professionalism
Tools & Physical Requirements:

Use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, printer, scanner) Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs for file boxes or event supplies Sitting and standing for extended periods during work tasks
oOccasional outdoor or off-site support for events

Qualifications:



Must be a student returning to school in the fall Interest in business administration, Indigenous governance, or office management Good communication, time management, and computer skills

Experience working or volunteering in a community or office setting is an asset

Professional Certification, Education and Experience

Must be currently enrolled in secondary or post-secondary education (high school, college, or university) and return to school in the fall Coursework or interest in office administration, business, social services, or Indigenous governance is an asset Previous work or volunteer experience in an office, school, or community settings is an asset Valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance and assets Successful completion of a criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Wage:

$18.00/hour
