Reporting to the Director Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), the HSE summer student will assist with regulatory matters pertaining to licensing, monitoring programs, and other HSE related actions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supporting environmental reporting requirements, supporting NTPC Environmental Programs, and summer monitoring programs.
Responsibilities: Supporting Environmental Reporting Requirements
Prepare draft reports;
Data analysis and interpretation
Supporting NTPC Environmental programs:
Site Remediations;
Environmental Monitoring Programs;
Supporting other divisions to ensure environmental compliance for;
Capital projects
Operational requirements
Site monitor
Other HSE Divisional support, including but not limited to:
Documentation and filing of data for workflow and Information Management
Note-taking and documentation for Health, Safety & Environment Audits
Facilitating review and update of HSE system documentation
Coordinating corporate HSE training functions
Tracking/monitoring HSE training for regulatory compliance
File management and record keeping
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED equivalent.
Must be either currently enrolled in
or
recently graduated from a post-secondary diploma program in an Environmental
or
Occupational Health & Safety field
AND
have completed at least one year of the program;
consideration may be given to those enrolled in STEM programs or other disciplines deemed equivalent.* Knowledge of environmental sampling procedures or best practices is an asset.
Proficient in the use of computers and the MS Office suite of programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other complimentary software programs.
Class 5 Driver's License is an asset.
Must have CSA-approved safety boots that lace above the ankle.
