Reporting to the Corporate Development Analyst, the Commercial and Corporate Development Summer Student is responsible for assisting with the assessment and evaluation of new investment opportunities across the Midstream Infrastructure landscape in Western Canada. This role will have ownership over the evaluation process and will work alongside the Finance, Commercial, New Ventures and Energy Transition teams to identify and analyze the NorthRiver investment opportunity set.

Responsibilities:

Industry research and data gathering. Assisting to prepare presentation materials for the NorthRiver Leadership Team and for our owner, Brookfield. Updating basic financial models and creating model outputs. Researching potential acquisition targets. Learning how to read and understand commercial contracts. Helping to maintain databases on our existing commercial contracts. Exposure to GHG emissions and carbon tax management. Help develop project business cases.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a 3rd year or above Bachelor's Degree program in Business, Commerce or Engineering. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to think critically and problem solve. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter with a "can do" attitude. Keen interest in the energy industry.
