Job Title: Program Leader Start Date: June 12th, 2023 Location: Charlottetown, PE Length of Contract: 10 weeks Wage: $15/hour Hours: 37.5/week Company Information: BGC Charlottetown & Montague is a community-based, charitable organization dedicated to meeting the needs of young people through a variety of quality, structured educational, remedial, and recreational programs. Program Information: The BGC Charlottetown Summer Camp Program will run Monday-Friday from July 3rd, 2023 until September 1st, 2023. Staff training will begin Monday, June 12th, 2023. Program Leaders will be required to work 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 pm. Job Overview: The Program Leader will act as a team member in the facilitation of our daily Summer Camp Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for school aged children through implementing daily activities and communicating with participants, co-workers and supervisors. The candidate will work to enhance participants experience by providing new and engaging experiences during our Summer Camp Program. Responsibilities:
Contract length: 12 weeks Salary: $15.00 per hour Benefits:
- Be onsite Monday to Friday during scheduled program hours
- Facilitate & guide activities throughout the day
- Follow the provided schedule and facilitate the planned activities in areas of Arts and Crafts, Sports, Science and Technology, Cooking, Outdoor Education
- Work to engage and integrate all participants in the daily program
- Assist with daily operations and facility maintenance
- Effectively communicate with other staff, supervisors & families
- Monitor children throughout the day and always ensure safety
- Keep detailed logs of daily interactions with members, incidents & accidents
- Empower the participants to successfully learn and develop appropriate life skills for their abilities
- Assist in the daily upkeep of the center, equipment and supplies
