SECTION COORDINATORS

are responsible for assisting the Summer Camp and Program Directors with the planning, preparing and leading all of Camp Fircom's Summer Camp sessions. As well, this position works in collaboration with the Summer Camp Director to coordinate the behind the scenes logistics that lead to a successful overall camper, volunteer and staff experience. These are full-time positions during the summer months (June 16 to August 15). As such, the successful candidates are required to live on site during this time period. During the spring and fall months, these positions may have the opportunity to be employed on a casual part-time basis, with work hours dependent upon staffing needs.

Section coordinators will be assigned to one of the following age groups: Teens (ages 13-15), Seniors (ages 10-12), and Juniors/Scampers (ages 7-8, and 9-10).

Each section coordinator is responsible for assisting the Summer Camp and Program Directors with the planning, preparing and leading all of Camp Fircom's Summer Camp sessions. As well, these positions work in collaboration with the Summer Camp Director to coordinate the behind the scenes logistics that lead to a successful overall camper, volunteer and staff experience. This includes: supervising and providing support and feedback to Teen/Senior/Junior & Scamper Camp staff; training staff to lead cabin groups and provide appropriate and responsive supervision and care of campers; communicating with families prior to the start of each session if they have indicated that their campers have extra support needs related to behaviour, physical ability or their mental and emotional health, and creating Care Plans for these campers that will be shared with the campers' Cabin Counsellors, as well as the Summer Camp Director and Coordinator; organizing arrival and departure days for Summer Camp sessions; ensuring that all staff receive adequate breaks; facilitating daily and weekly staff meetings; and, collaborating with the Program & Waterfront Director and Coordinator to plan camp activities and programs.

Overview:

A short 20 minute water taxi ride from Horseshoe Bay, Camp Fircom is situated on a 120-acre waterfront property with access to ample recreational opportunities, including swimming beaches and hiking trails. Living Arrangements: Accommodation is provided in a tent in the Bell Tent City area where teen campers will stay when on site. Shared washroom facilities are available for the exclusive use of staff, and internet access is available in many community spaces throughout camp.

Dates:

Start date - June 12, 2025; End Date - August 14, 2025 with additional dates in the Spring and Fall season:

During the spring and fall months, the successful candidate is expected to be available to work during the following sessions: Easter Family Camp: April 3-6, 2026, Queer Family Camp: May 15-18, 2026, Dad & Kids Camp: June 12-14, 2026, Fircom Outdoor School: June 15-20,2026 Summer Family Camp: September 4-7, 2026, as well as two option sessions: Circle of love: February 13-16, 2026 and Spring Break Camp: March 15-20, 2026
