COOKSMART offers hands-on cooking and nutrition programs for children across the GTA. Our summer camps combine cooking, food literacy, outdoor games, art, science, gardening, and social-emotional learning. We're looking for enthusiastic, organized leaders who love working with kids and want to make a meaningful impact.
Role Overview
Program Leaders are the core instructors of COOKSMART camp. They guide campers through cooking lessons, teach nutrition concepts, lead games and activities, and help maintain a fun, inclusive camp environment.
Responsibilities
Teach hands-on cooking lessons following COOKSMART curriculum
Introduce nutrition concepts, kitchen safety, and cooking skills
Lead additional activities (sports, art, drama, gardening, SEL games)
Manage groups of campers ages 6-13
Adapt lessons and activities to different ages and skill levels
Support Supervisors with set-up, transitions, and cleanup
Keep the kitchen and program space clean, safe, and organized
Model respectful communication, teamwork, and positive behaviour
Follow all food safety and allergy protocols
Assist with aftercare when scheduled
Requirements
Experience working with children (camps, tutoring, coaching, teaching, volunteering, etc.)
Interest in teaching, nutrition, recreation, or child development
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to stay calm, positive, and organized
Safe Food Handling

Schedule
May-June:
flexible scheduling for training and workshops
July-August:
Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts
Weekends occasionally as needed (rare)
