Job Description

We are a family-owned Kitchen and Bathroom renovation business located in North Vancouver. Most of our jobs are located on the North Shore and Vancouver.

We are currently looking for a skilled Sub-Contracted General Carpenter for various residential projects. This is not a full-time position, you are working per project with flexible schedules. You make your own schedule based on our work flow. This is ideal for someone who is already working as an independent trade and needs to fill their schedule. The ideal person will have hands-on experience as a General Carpenter with several years of experience working independently. You will be working in our client's homes and may need to interact with clients, so you will need to have excellent people skills and the ability to work in the presence of clients and other trades.

Your skills include: interpreting blueprints and sketches, Framing (structural and non-structural, wood and steel stud), installation of subfloors, minor concrete work, installing windows and doors, minor exterior siding modifications, drywall and waterproof boarding, installing bathtubs, minor ductwork modifications, insulation and vapour barrier, firestopping, framing a fireplace, ability to identify and solve problems effectively, such as structural issues and design challenges. Ability to manage time effectively to meet a deadline. Ability to keep a clean job site. Strong communication skills to coordinate with our Project Manager. Requirements include:

Minimum of 5-6 years experience as a General Carpenter

Have your own WCB coverage

Own a reliable vehicle

Own tools and equipment kept in optimal working condition

Follow blueprints and sketches to ensure quality of installation

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work well independantly with little to no supervision

Framing for walls, doors, windows, fireplaces, kitchen hoodfans, bathrooms etc...

Strong understanding of building codes, permits, safety regulations

Ability to install doors, windows, mouldings, trims etc...

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve construction-related problems effectively, such as uneven surfaces, structural issues, or design challenges.

Comfortable with a flexible work schedule that is not full-time

Typical Hours:

Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm, this is not a full-time position
Experience:

General Carpenter: 5+ years (more preferred)
Work Location: various client jobs sites in Metro Vancouver, primarily Vancouver, North and West Vancouver.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $60.00-$65.00 per hour
