, you will play a key role in supporting secondary school student-athletes as they complete their asynchronous coursework. This position emphasizes
classroom supervision, academic engagement support, and operational assistance
to ensure students remain on track academically while balancing intensive training schedules.
This role is well-suited for
recent Teacher's College graduates, OCTs, and educators with classroom management experience
who are looking for valuable teaching-related experience in a supportive, high-performance school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and maintain a productive, focused learning environment for high school students during asynchronous academic blocks.
Monitor student engagement and academic progress, recording attendance and flagging concerns to the Academic Lead.
Provide academic support across a variety of subjects when appropriate; redirect students to resources or teachers as needed.
Assist students with basic technology troubleshooting and digital learning platforms.
Maintain accurate academic and administrative records in school systems.
Support onboarding of new students, helping them navigate digital platforms and academic expectations.
Communicate with students and families through reminders, updates, and progress support.
Contribute to school-wide initiatives, including academic workshops, standardized test prep, compliance documentation, and parent information sessions.
Collaborate flexibly within a small, committed team to support both academics and athletics.
Qualifications
Experience supervising
high school students
, classroom teaching, tutoring across subjects, and/or working in an educational/administrative role.
Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficient in digital learning platforms (LMS/SIS) with ability to troubleshoot basic tech issues.
Positive, supportive, and proactive approach to working with student-athletes in a high-performance environment.
Experience as an
LTO (Long-Term Occasional Teacher)
is an asset.
Recent Teacher's College graduates
and
Ontario Certified Teachers (OCTs)
are strongly encouraged to apply.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
