Job Description

Duties:
- Assist with research project(s) in renewable energy and electric power systems in a Northern context.
- Assist with field review(s) of electric power systems and microgrids in remote communities.
- Perform or assist with data collection of energy demand and generation profiles for remote communities.
- Perform background research, literature reviews, presentations, and reporting
- Implement, validate, and document electric power system models and simulation/analysis methodologies.
- Assist with ongoing code development.
- Working individually and/or with a team
- University student in a relevant science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Experience with MATLAB / Simulink, computer assisted drafting (CAD) software, geographic information system (GIS) software, programming, and git are considered assets.
- Experience with electric power system analysis software (e.g., OpenDSS, CYME, PSSE, ETAP, PSCAD, etc.) is considered an asset.
- Prior fieldwork and/or lab experience is considered an asset.
