The Opportunity
Reporting to the Municipal Clerk or designate, this role will assist the Clerk's team in carrying out several important records management initiatives. The position will play a significant role in preparing physical records for digitization and organizing electronic records, develop finding aids, and deliver effective file management. As the Summer Student, Records and Information, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
Work with Clerk's staff to process research requests, including retrieving files from the physical Records Centre located in Town Hall
Prepare physical records for digitization by removing duplication and appropriate organization
Track records being sent for digitization and confirm corresponding electronic records are returned
Assist staff in conducting research, drafting materials, or reviewing and organizing records for various Departments within the Town of Caledon
Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an enthusiastic student who is returning in Fall 2026 to a post-secondary degree or diploma in records or information management, library sciences, political science, public administration, or a closely related field.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. We are seeking an individual with superior organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality in managing private and sensitive information.
This position offers a rate of pay of $21.18-$26.48 per hour, based on a 35-hour work week.
Satisfactory proof of schooling or return to school, may be requested.
