Summary
The Student and Alumni Services Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the success and well-being of students throughout their academic journey at College for Arts and Technology. This individual is the first point of contact for student concerns related to academic progress, attendance, behavior, and personal support services. The Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining accurate student records, coordinating orientations, and assisting in the implementation of student success initiatives and campus life activities. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, organization, and a proactive, student-centered mindset.
Responsibilities
Coordinate student events and activities to promote engagement and community involvement.
Act as a central point of contact for student inquiries, offering support in areas such as attendance, academic performance, personal challenges, and overall student experience
Monitor student attendance, academic engagement, and participation, and flag at-risk students for early intervention
Complete attendance, attendance funding, and admissions reports
Coordinate and help deliver student orientation sessions
Coordinate and help deliver graduation ceremony
Document and manage records related to student progress, disciplinary action, withdrawals, and re-entries
Collaborate with Department Heads, Instructors, and Admissions to ensure timely communication regarding student performance, concerns, and referrals
Provide administrative support for student success planning, probation notices, and appeals
Coordinate and track student engagement activities, events, and career preparation initiatives
Assist with graduate tracking and support Alumni engagement and employment efforts
Maintain updated databases and produce reports for internal use
Support textbook ordering and student materials distribution
Participate in student services strategic meetings and contribute to initiatives that improve student retention and satisfaction
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
A diploma or degree in education, counselling, communications, or a related field
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a student support, advising, or coordination role, preferably in post-secondary education
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
Excellent organizational and time management skills; detail-oriented
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems (e.g., CampusLogin or equivalent)
Understanding of and respect for diversity and inclusion in a student population
Experience in event coordination or orientation is an asset
