The successful candidates for these roles will gain practical experience and steam time in a class 1 steam plant environment at Rainbow Lake. We are looking for individuals who can bring fresh ideas and are willing to learn from some of the industry\'s most innovative and talented people.

Note: this is NOT a camp-based facility. Successful candidates will be required to relocate to Rainbow Lake. (Cenovus will be providing accommodations for the duration of the student term)

Responsibilities

Follow the utility/process plant operators and become familiar with the unit operators\' daily tasks and job requirements.

Perform water tests with a plant operator.

Troubleshoot process upsets/problems with the unit operator.

Trace piping drawings and read through documentation of process equipment.

Qualifications

Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

Available to begin work in May 2024

Must be willing to follow rotational shift schedule.

Requires valid H2S alive ticket.

Skills

Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes, or solutions.

Understanding of crucial safety principles and proven safety leadership.

Education

Enrolled in the first year of a Power Engineering Diploma Program at an accredited post-secondary institution and planning to resume full-time studies after the work term to achieve diploma and 3rd class ticket completion.

Or

Completed coursework but requires 3rd class steam time to complete the full ticket.

New graduates who are not eligible for student opportunities.

Safety Sensitive

This is a safety-sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.

Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.e., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver is abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, if offered the position. A valid Canadian class 5 Driver\'s License with no restrictions (i.e., non GDL) is a requirement for this role.
