Position Summary

This student placement opportunity is designed for individuals currently enrolled in a Social Service Worker program. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in child and family services, working alongside experienced professionals to support community-based initiatives and administrative functions.

What you will do in the role


--------------------------------

Assist with intake and case documentation under supervision. Support community outreach and engagement activities. Help coordinate meetings, workshops, and cultural events. Maintain accurate records and assist with file management. Participate in team meetings and contribute to service planning. Provide administrative support to social service teams. Uphold confidentiality and cultural sensitivity in all interactions. Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and manage room bookings. Assist with travel arrangements and conference registrations. Maintain appointment calendars and prepare materials for meetings. Archive and distribute policies and procedures in accordance with agency standards. Liaise with program support staff and Executive Assistant for day-to-day coordination. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor.

What you bring to the table

Currently enrolled in a recognized Social Service Worker program. Returning to full-time studies in Fall 2026. Legally entitled to work in Ontario. Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Knowledge of Indigenous culture and ability to speak a First Nation language is a strong asset. Full-time student during the 2025/2026 academic year and returning to full-time studies in the fall of 2026. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with a variety of internal and external contacts, oral and written communication skills.
