Stepwest, a Recognized Organization by the Government of Canada, partners with education providers (colleges, universities), to place students in co-op and practicums placement when the academic program requires it. We provide a stepping-stone in a student\xe2\x80\x99s career. Reporting to the Lead Placement Specialist, the Placement Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the success of the student\xe2\x80\x99s work experience. You will be working closely alongside the Placement Team to deliver all aspects of "matchmaking" and help students secure a work experience for their educational programs. We are responsible for the successful match between the enthusiastic student and their perfect work experience opportunity.   • Liaise with employers to assess job openings and placement needs
  • Explore new opportunities in order to locate new streams of employer contacts
  • Place co-op students and program participants in roles related to their studies, skills and experience
  • Collect all program required documents from the students throughout their placement using our dedicated software
  • Present informational workshops to students to outline requirements and describe placement services
  • Represent Stepwest and possess knowledge of Stepwest\xe2\x80\x99s services
  • Maintain positive relationships with school and company partners
  • Create supporting documents for job placements
  • Maintain information systems to ensure everything is accurate and up to date
REQUIREMENTS
  • A degree/diploma in business or related field
  • At least 1-year work of related experience such as staffing, outbound sales, or account management
  • Superior customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Highly motivated by personal targets as well as team goals; a true team player.
  • Proficiency with Mac, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with a high volume of administrative work as well as proficient time management capabilities
  • Acute organization skills and strong ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
