Marvin Ducho Music Library

Position Summary:
Under the direction of a library staff member, the student navigator lends materials of various formats; assists patrons with audio and video equipment; answers simple inquiries and directional questions; and contributes to the processing, shelving, shifting, and organizing of library materials. Tasks may include assisting with projects related to collections maintenance. May be required to open and/or close the library and perform emergency evacuation procedures. Performs other supplementary tasks as assigned.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Excellent knowledge of music and music materials, preferably with some formal training. Knowledge of music score and recording formats and familiarity with audio and video equipment. Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to clearly transmit and receive information. Must be client-focused and service-oriented. Demonstrated ability to cope with physical requirements: handling, carrying and lifting of library materials. Previous library or similar experience preferred. English: spoken, read and written. French: spoken and read. Other languages an asset.
