Reporting to Dr. Marissa Clapson, the Department of Chemistry is seeking a Student Laboratory Assistant.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the development of undergraduate laboratory activities for Inorganic I (Chem 2720)
Perform proposed undergraduate experiments
Propose adjustments to the laboratory experiments where appropriate
Assist in the development and updating of laboratory manual, marking schemes and rubrics, and example laboratory reports
Assist in assuring alignment between laboratory and lecture content
Development of similar materials will be started for Inorganic II (Chem3740)
Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of Inorganic I (Chem 2720) or equivalent. The laboratory component of the course must have been completed in-person
Successful completion of Inorganic II (Chem 3740) will be considered an asset.
Completed WHMIS and a thorough understanding of chemical safety with the ability to readily search and understand chemical SDS
Previous experience as a TA, lab coordinator, or educational assistant will be considered an asset
