About this Opportunity:Students who excel in this position enjoy problem solving and helping others to succeed. Communication and recognition of Continuous Improvement (CI) successes is central to the position.This role supports our ATS sites and their Continuous Improvement teams and is responsible for developing and sustaining CI standards across the segment, primarily focused in Europe and North America. The Intern will be exposed to Continuous Improvement principles, systems and tools, and will have the opportunity to learn from experienced team members as well as through direct participation in CI activity. The candidate will also support and lead regional CI programs and will have the opportunity to learn about and engage with a variety of sites, customers, and businesses. The Intern in this role will enjoy a varied, stimulating and challenging work environment in a highly motivated team. We are looking for a team player who is able to learn quickly, is self-motivated, and has excellent interpersonal communication abilities.Preferred Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office/Google
  • Strong communication skills, especially written
  • Excellent collaboration, problem solving and teamwork skills
  • Flexible and self-motivated
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet, PowerBI, dashboarding or website design an asset
  • Awareness of Continuous Improvement, Lean and Six Sigma is an asset
Activities:
  • Assist in the governance of the Systematic CI Framework program, including quarterly internal reviews and semi-annual site assessments.
  • Manage CI Recognition programs, including coordinating monthly Best of Site, quarterly Best of Region and semi-annual global Best of Best recognition rewards and associated communications.
  • Coordinate the publication of the quarterly CI Newsletter, including content generation, recognition summaries and other updates.
  • Support appropriate CI reviews, including monthly regional and site meetings.
  • Oversee monthly CI metric reporting.
  • Assist with maintenance and enhancements of the global CI website.
  • Assist with maintenance and enhancements of the Operations Central repository.
  • Potential to participate in process improvement based CI workshops or projects.
  • Potential to assist in the creation and delivery of training materials.
  • This team drives and supports improvement initiatives across the network that may require support and provides opportunities for candidates to take on new responsibilities as determined by business needs and applicant\'s capabilities. If applicate, a candidate could take on a greater role in a site improvement initiative or lead/support a broader initiative.
Physical Demands:
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
  • Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc).
