Job Title: Jazz Studio Assistant

Wage: $20.69 per hour

Hours of Work: Approx 7 hours per week

Start Date: September 3, 2025

Number of Positions Available: 1

Length of Appointment: April 30, 2026

Duties:





Maintain regular contact with the Jazz area ensemble directors and instructors.

Assist with organization of studio materials and arranging repertoire.

Assist with research related to delivery of studio instruction.

Assist with coaching and assessment of techniques as required.

Assist students with performance practice, skill-building, technique development and equipment in-between lessons.

Assist with preparation for the BU jazz festival

Other relevant duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Experience:





Considerable advanced skills and judgment

Ability to work independently and/or with others effectively

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Strong attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills and self-motivated

Basic math skills


Education:



1. Preference given to current Brandon University Music student; with enrolment in graduate

program or holding a graduate degree

2. Specific courses related to the given department/faculty in which the job is needed when

indicated in the posting

3. Strong academic standing
