Under the leadership of the Chief Investment Officer, the Total Portfolio Management Group provides a holistic lens across the OMERS investment portfolio, with responsibility for Economic Research, Portfolio Construction, FX Management, and Liquidity Management at the total portfolio level. The Total Portfolio Management group works closely with the broader investment teams and partners to integrate best-in-class thinking and support the continued evolution of the investment strategy.

As a member of the FX Management team within TPM, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the development of analytical tools required for managing overall OMERS FX exposures
  • Working with financial and operational data from primary and secondary data sources to build state of the art tools for monitoring and reporting FX exposures
  • Developing and supporting financial and operational reporting dashboards within Power BI for FX Management
  • Assisting with ad-hoc requests related to data analytics and/or reporting for TPM
  • Working with other teams within TPM to prioritize analytics and reporting needs
  • Assisting with the preparation and development of reporting, presentations, and various materials for discussion at the executive level
  • Exhibiting ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and ensure on-time delivery
  • Identifying, defining, and implementing solutions for the enhancement of existing processes
You bring the following skills and qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Masters program, including: Masters of Mathematical Finance, Mechanical Engineering, or Masters of Business Administration
  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong academic track record combined with extra-curricular experience
  • Excellent programming skills including knowledge of Python or MATLAB, VBA, SQL, and Power BI
  • A creative and enquiring mind to continuously improve current processes
  • Self-starter and independent attitude
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to work in a team environment
