The administrative team works closely with and supports the Department Chair, Undergraduate Chair, and Graduate Chair in department operations. At the undergraduate level, Psychology is the largest department in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. At the graduate level, we have six core areas of Psychology as well as the professional Ph.D. training program in Clinical Psychology. Our team emphasizes a respectful, collaborative, and supportive work culture.

About the Role




The Student Affairs Coordinator leads the academic advising services provided to prospective and registered students on academic and administrative matters in Department of Psychology, the Behavioural Neuroscience program, and the Cognitive Science program in accordance with University and Faculty policies. The role works strategically to align departmental goals with services and programs for undergraduate students including planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and activities related to course offerings, curriculum, scheduling and teaching support. The Coordinator develops and manages the program's strategic student recruitment and retention plan, and conducts faculty-wide consultations to enhance interim program offerings and materials available to students. The Student Affairs Coordinator is the main point of contact for all engagement related activities; mentors, guides and supports student groups; and fosters strong relationships between students, SFU organizations/clubs, Faculty, Alumni Association, and the community at large.
