Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment Read blueprints to determine work requirements Repair cable signals Test trunking systems Test equipment to locate transmission faults Install trunking systems, circuits and equipment Instruct apprentices Complete and maintain test and service reports Determine nature, cause and location of trouble Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets Determine work assignments Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers Splice, join and connect wires Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
