Job Description

Structured Cabling Technicians plan and install network installations, install cable pathway systems, install, terminate, and splice copper and fiber optic cables.

We are looking for an energetic and career minded individual to take on the position of Structured Cabling Technician. This full-time opportunity includes health benefits plus opportunity for growth!

The Structured Cabling Technician will be responsible for executing communications cabling projects as well as projects in the security and fibre optic field.

Qualifications:



Minimum 1 year of structured cable experience an asset Focused on safety and following codes, standards and legal requirements Positive attitude with the ability to work well with team members and clients Adaptable with the ability to confidently make decisions under little supervision Self-motivated, with time management skills Ability to travel to various worksites

Responsibilities:

Installing data, voice, security, and video cabling, network cabling and fiber optics according to the requirements
Install new communications outlets and equipment as required Read and properly interpret blueprints and construction plans Label cables according to defined standards Perform the necessary tests after installation and make the necessary corrections Communicate with customers in a personable, but professional manner, ensuring their needs are met and that jobs are completed to their satisfaction Learn and adhere to all applicable Health & Safety regulations, both legislatively mandated, and as outlined in company policy Ensure company vehicles, test equipment and tools are kept safe and in good condition Fully complete detailed work orders following each job to ensure accurate billing Complete and submit daily timesheets and all other duties as assigned in order to meet company objectives

Requirements:

Flexible to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends, if needed
Available to work 40 hours per week, with the potential for overtime hours, if needed Ability to lift items weighting 50lbs Ability to work from a ladder or power elevated work platform Available for occasional overnight travel and work throughout the province Valid driver's license Clear criminal background check
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00-$33.00 per hour
