What are we looking for?




We are seeking a

Structural Steel Drafter

with proven

SolidWorks experience

to join our engineering and design team. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing detailed structural drawings, 3D models, and fabrication-ready documents for steel bridge and structural projects.

What you will do:



Produce accurate

3D models and 2D fabrication drawings

for structural steel components using SolidWorks. Interpret engineering design calculations, sketches, and specifications to create precise drawings. Generate

shop drawings, assembly drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs)

for production. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabricators to ensure design accuracy and feasibility. Apply

industry standards (CISC, AISC, CSA)

and company drafting practices to all drawings. Revise and update drawings as required to reflect design changes and field modifications. Support project documentation, drawing control, and archiving according to company procedures. Assist in identifying and resolving potential design or fabrication issues.


What you will need:



Diploma in

Mechanical/Structural Drafting, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience

.

2+ years of drafting experience

in the structural steel or bridge industry. Proficiency in

SolidWorks (3D modeling, drawings, configurations, weldments)

. Knowledge of

structural steel fabrication processes, connections, and detailing

. Proficiency with

AutoCAD

or other CAD software. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret

engineering drawings and specifications

. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
