We are seeking a motivated intermediate
Structural Engineer
to join our growing Bridges team. This role is based in our
Collingwood
office (our head office and bridge team hub), with consideration for candidates located in
Guelph or Ottawa
. Candidates based in Ottawa will also have the opportunity to play a key role in helping grow our presence in the eastern Ontario market.
The successful candidate will support and lead the delivery of bridge and structural infrastructure projects with a focus on project management, design, proposal preparation, and construction support. You'll work closely with our senior bridge engineers and collaborate with other disciplines across our six office locations.
More specifically, the successful candidate will:
Lead or assist with conceptual, preliminary, and detailed bridge design
Prepare technical reports, design calculations, drawings, and specifications
Prepare construction cost estimates, tender documents, and contract packages
Review designs for compliance with applicable standards
Conduct site inspections for existing infrastructure and construction projects
Develop proposal submissions and assist with business development efforts
Coordinate and delegate tasks to junior staff and review their work
Support growth initiatives, particularly in Ottawa, if based there
Key Position Requirements
P.Eng. in the province of Ontario, registered with PEO
6-10 years of relevant bridge engineering experience, preferably in consulting
Proficient knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC), Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM), and applicable standards and legislation
Strong technical design experience with reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel, and other bridge materials
Experience with project coordination and client communication
Strong technical and analytical skills, familiarity with Civil 3D is considered an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative mindset with interest in mentorship and team leadership
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
