Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our team in Huntsville, Ontario. The ideal candidate will assist in the design and analysis of various structural projects, working closely with senior engineers to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications. We specialize in the structural design of custom cottages and boathouses in one of the most unique environments Ontario has to offer. Experience

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required. Strong mathematical skills for performing structural calculations. Previous internship or co-op experience in structural engineering is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail are critical for success in this role. Provide structural design of wood, steel, and concrete members for detailed residential and light commercial structures. Complete structural analysis of structural members for strength and serviceability. Utilize AutoCAD software to prepare preliminary permit and as-constructed drawings/details. Complete site inspections to review existing structures and investigate areas of structural deterioration. Conduct construction site visits to review and report on the conformance of the contractor's work with contract documents and specifications.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering Preferred experience in the residential construction industry Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Wordworks, and RISA design software Ability to understand engineering and architectural drawings Working knowledge of quality standards for structural design and planning, engineering fundamentals and principles, as well as all relevant codes and jurisdictions Clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing Consistent attention to detail and accuracy Commitment to providing exceptional client service and technical excellence Ability to problem solve independently as well a collaboratively with other team members and clients Ability to work efficiently, meet targeted schedules and manage project priorities Valid Driver's License and transportation This is not a remote position -- candidates must be able to relocate to the area to work in the office

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
