Reporting to the Regional VP, the Structural Drafter will play a key role in our Engineering and CAD Department. With a focus on quality and client satisfaction, you will be essential in managing department workflows while overseeing employee contributions. You will ensure that all our engineering and design activities are in compliance with appropriate codes and provincial standards. As you work closely with our Operations Department, your collaboration will be vital in managing project reviews and finalizing approvals for project designs.

Position Responsibilities



Here's what your day-to-day looks like:


Prepare detailed structural drawings and construction documents using Revit. Draft concrete foundations, tilt-up panels, structural steel, and wood framing layouts. Coordinate closely with engineers, architects, and construction managers to ensure accurate and constructible drawings. Review markups and redlines from engineers and incorporate them efficiently. Maintain consistent drawing standards across projects and file systems. Support RFIs and shop drawing reviews as needed.



Job Requirements




Our ideal candidate has the following:



5+ years of structural drafting experience, ideally in commercial, industrial, or institutional construction. Proficient in Revit is a strong asset. Solid understanding of construction methods, detailing, and sequencing. Experience with tilt-up construction, cast-in-place concrete, steel connections, and wood framing detailing. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and building codes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent communication and time management skills.



Additional assets we are seeking:


Diploma or degree in Architectural or Engineering Technology.*
Familiarity with BIM coordination processes and file exchanges.*
Experience working in a consulting, design-build or fast-paced construction environment.*
