- Perform calculations and prepare specification and detail designs for various civil engineering projects focusing on structures but also including road construction, etc. in accordance with applicable codes and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop structural plans and specifications.
- Prepare detailed drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD.
- Perform calculations and analysis using software tools like MIDAS 3D
- Conduct site visits to gather data and assess structural conditions
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, reports, and presentations
- Work within the assigned project budget and schedule.
- Review Contractor shop drawings when required.
- Will report to Senior Engineer and senior management.
- Will be required to perform site inspection's and at times may be required to be full time on site for upwards of 4 months.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian University.
- Eligible for or in possession of Professional Engineer License in Ontario
- Preferred 1 to 5 years' experience in structural engineering.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Midas 3D an asset.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience with project management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Valid Class G Driver's License and possession of vehicle.
