We operate primarily out of a prestigious private school, while also working with private clients at a nearby gym. Our main facility features a well-equipped weight room, a full suite of cutting-edge VALD performance testing technology, and access to a large outdoor training space & track, providing an elite environment for athlete development and performance training.

About This Opportunity

This role reports to our Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and Director of Performance, and plays a central part in delivering high-quality training experiences for our members. The position is focused on coaching excellence, supporting program design, and contributing to the overall success of our performance environment. This person thrives on the training floor, leading sessions with energy, clarity, and professionalism, while also taking ownership of key responsibilities behind the scenes. They should be committed to ongoing growth as a coach, eager to learn, and proactive in building strong relationships with clients and teammates. As an integral member of our coaching staff, they help ensure training standards are upheld, members feel supported, and the gym community continues to grow and thrive.

This is a full-time, salaried coaching position with opportunities to earn additional income through sales bonuses. You will be provided clear transparency on your growth potential within the organization, with the ability to take on increased responsibilities over time and a defined path for advancement.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of coaching and training experience, with a strong foundation in working with diverse populations across private, small group, and team settings. Experience with athletic performance, rehabilitation, and general fitness for both youth and adults is highly valued. Familiarity with performance technology such as timing gates, force plates, and velocity-based training tools is a strong asset. Beyond technical skills, the candidate should demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and excellent communication, with a genuine interest in contributing to a positive team culture. A growth-oriented mindset, adaptability in fast-paced environments, and a commitment to continuous learning are all essential qualities for success in this role.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:



? Lead & assistant coach in a small group, private, and team setting

? Assists with client programming

? Participates in program design meetings with staff

? Conducts new & current member assessments

? Participates in continuing education meetings with staff

? Assists with the creation of social media educational content

? Assists & leads training sessions with adults and youth

? Sales and membership for prospects

? Communicates points of view and updates internally among the team

? Helping to maintain a clean and inviting environment in the gym for members

? Participates in community events - gym outings, workshops, and more

Skills & Qualifications



Required Skills:

? At least 1 year in coaching and training

? Experience using speed timing gates, force plates, velocity based training, and other testing technology is an asset

? Has a "start-up" & "growth" mindset and is comfortable with ambiguity and eager to develop new processes and ways of working

?? Is an excellent problem solver and is comfortable working in fast-paced environments

? Has excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers in a timely manner

? Maintains a positive attitude and provides exemplary customer service

? Skilled with a variety of office technology - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat PDF etc.

? Provides the highest level of professionalism. Is punctual, resourceful, independent, detail-oriented, and prioritizes accuracy

? Accountability: reliability and personal responsibility. Honors commitments, takes ownership of work and promptly corrects mistakes to the greatest extent possible; meets deadlines and continuously communicates

Qualifications



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Kinesiology or related field (applicants without will still be considered) Up-to-date CPT certification (NSCA-CSCS or equivalent) with at least 3 years of experience working with fitness clients Up-to-date CPR/AED certification Flexible work schedule (evenings, weekends, and early mornings required) Comfortable working independently Able to obtain a valid criminal record/vulnerable sector check

Preferred Qualifications



Experience in a sales role (ideally in a fitness environment)

Compensation



Base salary: $39,000 - $47,000/year for a 30-hour work week (equivalent to $25 - $30.20/hour) Additional hourly coaching pay: $35 - $45/hour (rate commensurate with experience) Sales bonuses and performance incentives available
Total earning potential: $57,200 - $70,000/year assuming a 40-hour work week (not including bonuses)
