THE ROLE
Supporting and working alongside the members of the Canadian Armed Forces and actively preparing them to defend and serve our country could be your path to an extremely fulfilling career.
As part of a dynamic and dedicated team interdisciplinary team, the Strength and Conditioning Coach will have the opportunity to work with a high performing clientele. Your daily tasks will include programming and coaching strength and conditioning sessions for Canadian Armed Forces members who are seeking optimal physical performance. You will have expertise in designing specific programs and services that support rehabilitation, injury prevention, and increase operational readiness based on established employment standards.
Being a subject matter expert in your field, you will support your local team in providing training, education, and advanced physical testing sessions to enhance the programs and services offered while contributing to high performance project development.
You will assist Strength and Conditioning Specialists in delivering strength and conditioning programs focused on optimizing physical performance and returning to duty from physical injury.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Sciences or a related discipline AND some years of experience in physical fitness evaluation and prescription, adapted physical fitness and return to work, or a related field
National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification
Current Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP)
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
Unit specific physical fitness standards, as required
Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification, as required
Experience
In designing individual and group strength and conditioning programs for elite level personnel
In providing fitness program delivery to clients with physical injuries
In physical fitness evaluation
In adapting strength and conditioning programs for individuals
In assisting advanced exercise testing sessions
In designing and conducting physical fitness education workshops
In assisting the coordination and delivery of reconditioning, physical fitness programming, motor skill development, and evaluation protocols
In researching, preparing, and delivering reports
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
Competencies
