Job Overview
We're looking for a Strength and Conditioning Coach / Kinesiologist whose core values align with our mission to make data-driven performance training more accessible for everyone. You'll be working with clients of all levels -- from those starting out their fitness or rehabilitation journeys to world-class athletes.
As a Strength & Conditioning coach / Kinesiologist, you'll lead private coaching, active rehabilitation, and small group training sessions. This role requires someone who can work independently while supporting the SCIENCED Athletics vision.
While working with us, you'll have the chance to refine your coaching approach and learn from our experienced team. Our lead sport scientist and strength and conditioning coach will actively mentor and train you to seamlessly integrate sport science into your assessment and training systems.
Work with cutting-edge equipment like force plates, metabolic carts, and fixed frame dynamometers
Develop effective training programs with direction from our leading Strength & Conditioning and Rehabilitation coaches
Design individual and group training programs for diverse clients based on goals, experience, and assessment data
Run biomechanics assessments (e.g., with access to force plates) and physiological tests (e.g., lactate thresholds, VO2 Max, body composition) for clients
Turn functional physiological and biomechanics assessments into practical training plans
Work closely with the SCIENCED Athletics team
Responsibilities
Bring knowledge and enthusiasm to every client session
Know our programs inside and out to help new clients find their best fit
Help build SCIENCED Athletics through new client connections
Actively participate in team meetings to improve our systems and coaching approaches
Work effectively with youth ages 11-16 using LTAD principles
Handle all matters professionally and confidentially
Qualifications
Necessary Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Sport Science, or related field
3+ years as a practicing Kinesiologist / Strength & Conditioning Coach in a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation and training environment
CSCS - Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (preferred)
BCAK - British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (preferred)
Current First Aid and CPR certifications
Experience/Qualifications We Consider an Asset:
Certificate/Diploma in Sport Science
Experience and/or willingness to incorporate sport science technology into service provision
CSEP, BASES, ASCC, ASCA Certifications
Experience working with athletes and/or sport teams
Experience working with ICBC rehabilitation clients
Experience working with an integrated support team (IST)
Remuneration
Tiered compensation structure based on experience and client portfolio, $27 - $40.
