OverviewWe\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Strategy and Operations Intern (Co-op Student) to work in the Divisional Strategy and Operations (DSO) team in Prevention Services to assist in supporting our senior leadership team and Head of Prevention Services by providing assurance through ensuring alignment with WorkSafeBC\xe2\x80\x99s strategies, business plans and policies to our strategic plan and operational planning support.If you are interested in applying your talents and knowledge and gaining valuable experience to support worker health and safety, we want to hear from you. This is a four-month temporary opportunity starting January 2025.How you\xe2\x80\x99ll make a difference: You\xe2\x80\x99ll apply what you\xe2\x80\x99ve learned in your post-secondary program to benefit workers and employers across B.C.Where you\xe2\x80\x99ll workAt WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and be on-site in our Richmond office at a minimum of twice per month or based on operational needs.What you\'ll doOn Day 1 in this role, you will get a chance to meet your manager and get acquainted with your team. You will spend time setting up administrative and technological essentials, and completing onboarding tasks, including security and payroll setup.Throughout Week 1, you will be orienting yourself to all things Prevention Services and WorkSafeBC - work on completing training modules, reviewing divisional strategies, and immersing yourself in the department\'s work. Together with your manager, you will clarify your role\'s goals and how to achieve and align them with the department\xe2\x80\x99s goals.

  • Create polished communications including memos, summaries, and presentations for senior management and leadership distribution.
  • Assist in divisional and departmental work planning to ensure effective coordination and execution.
  • Help develop and maintain documentation, tools, and templates to monitor and report on strategic initiatives for the Prevention Leadership Team.
  • Contribute and support various projects including the divisional roadmap planning, development and assessment measures, meeting facilitation, change management, data reporting, analysis and process mapping.
  • Foster collaboration with partners to uphold the DSO and Prevention Services mandate, ensuring alignment of initiatives with strategic priorities while providing assurance.

Your background and experience
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program (MBA, MMA, MBAN, MScFIN)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, for creating presentations and managing data effectively.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Azure DevOps, or similar platforms is an asset, facilitating efficient data analysis, visualization, and agile project management.
  • Previous office or relevant work experience required, demonstrating familiarity with professional environments.
  • Some project management knowledge and experience would be nice to have.
