Work Mode: Mostly remote

Hours of work: 35 hours per week

The role:

Supporting the division in a fast-paced environment you will be responsible for the coordination of activities, programs and services related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Accessibility. This includes compile, organize and analyze related documentation and data.

What you will do in this role:

  • The coordination and delivery of a variety of DEI and Accessibility programs and services on behalf of the Office of Culture & Inclusion.
  • The organization and analysis of all DEI and Accessibility data.
  • Distribute information in a timely manner and extract reports from data received.
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis of DEI and Accessibility best practices that, in turn, informs the development of leading-edge programs and approaches for the Region.
  • Prepare documents and coordinate all logistics related to the delivery of DEI initiatives, e.g., assessments, review of project material, planning.
  • Prepare and ensure consistent and accurate communication of DEI programming through email correspondence, and the preparation and maintenance of relevant content.
  • Respond to non-routine requests from departmental clients, assessing needs and providing consultation or referral where appropriate.
  • Work with internal clients (e.g. Corporate Services) Finance, to ensure the delivery of DEI programs aligned with corporate priorities.
  • Responsible for key financial processes for the Office of Culture & Inclusion. Will prepare requisitions and express purchase orders, review vendor invoices and processing for payment, and prepare information for invoices and internal charges.
  • Create, edit, and publish presentations on PowerPoint.
What the role requires:

Educational Background/Must Haves/Bonafide Job Requirements:
  • College diploma with a specialization in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, or Adult Education combined with a minimum of three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience coordinating leadership and/or DEI activities.
  • Strong computer knowledge and demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio), with an ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • Extensive knowledge of related policies, programs and processes.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize work to meet competing demands.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of discretion, judgment, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels within the organization.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Previous experience managing multiple tasks, changing priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Location: In this role you will have the ability to work mostly remote. You will be required to occasionally attend on-site meetings based on operational requirements at 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
