Position Overview

The Strategic Access Manager, Ontario is responsible for driving optimal product reimbursement for Janssen products in the province of Ontario, including engagement and relationships with reimbursement decision-makers and influencers.

The Strategic Access Manager, Ontario will also collaborate on national reimbursement and advocacy strategies for assigned therapeutic areas with Market Access Strategic Teams and National Advocacy Working Groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement regional reimbursement strategies designed to enable optimal public drug plan coverage for Janssen products, including future products, in Ontario, in collaboration within the Access department and other Janssen business partners as needed.
  • Through participation on Market Access Strategic Teams and National Advocacy Working Groups, collaborate on the development of national reimbursement strategies and advocacy initiatives for assigned therapeutic areas and advocacy priorities.
  • Provide deep insights and expertise of market access dynamics provincially to drive optimal success for Janssen business plans
  • Develop and maintain strong networks of regional reimbursement decision-makers and influencers based on trust and credibility in Ontario, and integrate in the development of strategic reimbursement plans
  • Participate in negotiations of public formulary listings with pCPA, as required and ensure rapid execution of product listing agreements in Ontario
  • Ongoing account management of listings, product listing agreements and market access policies
  • Engage and partner with regional sales, marketing and medical affairs activities and plans
  • Leadership role within industry association initiatives and committees on behalf of Janssen Inc.
  • Administrative activities related to contracting, managing contracts, travel and expense reporting, compliance and training\xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree in life sciences or political science is required
  • A minimum of 3-5 or more years\' experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or government (Provincial/Federal Ministry of Health) is required
  • Knowledge of the payer and healthcare environment, and related customers
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, scientific and analytical skills.
  • Demonstration of strong interdependent partnering and high level of customer focus.
  • Demonstrates competencies in collaboration & teaming, strategic and innovative thinking, and the ability to master complexity.
  • Experience with negotiating an asset
  • Experience working in multiple therapeutic areas a strong asset.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Valid driver\'s license required
