Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor for the University of Alberta, this position is required to perform numerous duties in accordance with well-established policies and procedures related to customer service; supply distribution functions; sterile warehouse maintenance, and projects. The incumbent directly supports activities related, but not limited to the following: the maintenance and integrity of warehouse; top up cart inventory; inventory counts and monthly audits; hand held device technology; checking inventory received from the vendor and MDC; transferring received inventory supplies from the staging area to their assigned storage location; entering orders into the computer system while verifying the items received and distributed; product recall management; clinical product conversions; assist in determining optimal top up cart inventory.

Description:

As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with AHS guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicates frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantity of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs. Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time. Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg. Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be competent in a computerized windows environment with current experience and understanding of Stores 1 functions in utilizing inventory (carts) and receiving processes in Oracle. Must have current and relevant inventory management experience and education. Audit and replenish supplies on stock locations, using handheld technology and ordering based on min/max levels. Submitting Hot Picks, RQs and manual requisitions in oracle. Maintaining and managing supply carts and rotation of supplies. Receive and unpack goods, supplies and inventory items. Visually inspects and counts all incoming shipments for discrepancies and damage, noting any irregularities on Bill of Lading/Packing slip. Understanding of receiving issue resolutions, processes, and proper documentation. Please include a well written and up to date resume and cover letter in your application. Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, i.e. Outlook, Excel and Word. Written and oral communication in the English language in a clear and concise manner. Oracle software usage and knowledge. Supply Chain related experience in Healthcare. The ability to function cohesively as a team player, work interdependently and with co-workers, deal with constant interruptions, and multi-task. Ability to lift and move heavy supplies in a physically demanding role.
