Position Summary: As the Store Manager of MB PetBarn, you will play a pivotal part in not only managing our store operations, but in shaping our community initiatives. We are dedicated to evolving and enhancing our involvement within our local community. In this role, you will be the driving force behind MB PetBarn\'s local awareness, forging meaningful partnerships within the community. Your creative vision will come to life as you explore and implement impactful initiatives and your influence is not only in managing the store but transforming it into a hub of positive change for local pets in need.   • Champion MB PetBarn standards, procedures, policies, and changes.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the store team, providing clear direction and support.
  • Conduct daily store inspections to maintain a world-class store presentation.
  • Utilize daily, weekly, and monthly reports to monitor store performance, sales, and inventory.
  • Ensure business management activities are accurate, timely, and aligned with company standards.
Community Engagement: - Actively engage with the local pet-loving community, attending events, and building strong relationships. - Be the eyes and ears of the local community, staying informed about events, trends, and opportunities. - Identify sponsorship and involvement opportunities aligning with MB PetBarn\'s values and objectives. - Foster a deep understanding of the community\'s needs and preferences. - Represent MB PetBarn at local gatherings, fostering a positive brand image within the community. Staff Management and Training:
  • Create staff schedules while optimizing labor ratios for profitability.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train new staff.
Inventory and Product Management:
  • Manage product ordering to meet customer demands without risking product expiration.
  • Implement loss-minimizing controls for inventory shrink, theft, and other risks.
Communication and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with Retail Operations on planning, budgeting, sales promotions, and advertising campaigns.
  • Act as a liaison between the store and the pet-loving community, fostering positive relationships.
  • Communicate frequently with Retail Operations to discuss planning, budgeting, sales promotions, and advertising campaigns.
Flexibility and Special Assignments:
  • Be actively engaged in the local pet-loving community, attending events and gatherings.
  • Adapt to the needs of the business and development opportunities.
  • Attend trade fairs and shows to promote pet products and the company as directed by Head Office.
Performance Metrics and Equipment Care:
  • Performance measurement based on sales, store operational standards, profit and loss metrics, and other company-established standards.
  • Care for and respect company-owned equipment, maintaining it as needed.
Other Duties:
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills: - Minimum 3 years of related retail store management experience, or equivalent. - Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and team management skills. - Attention to detail and organizational prowess. - Strong customer service background and acumen. - Proficiency in visual merchandising. - Exceptional communication and customer service abilities. - Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. - Ability to lift 25kg repeatedly without restriction. - Clean driver\'s abstract, as occasional work-related travel is required. - Flexibility to work a schedule that may include evenings and weekends. - Experience with product ordering and inventory management is an asset.
