Job Description


The Retail Store Manager\xe2\x80\x99s ultimate goal is to support the company\xe2\x80\x99s vision, mission, and values. The Retail Store Manager will bring out the best in their employees by encouraging self-development and providing a safe and trusting workplace. The Retail Store Manager\xe2\x80\x99s main duty is to maintain a set standard of a professional image and service on a day-to-day basis amongst all staff members while being in compliance with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities: Employee Management

  • Provide coaching and nourishment to the hearts and minds of individuals to promote employee happiness.
  • Manage employee improvement processes by ensuring that disciplinary measures are fair and effectively communicated.
  • Provide formal annual performance reviews to establish and review goals, and encourage employees to perform to their highest potentials and to improve motivation, job satisfaction, retention, and ultimately employee happiness.
  • Provide ongoing employee constructive and positive feedback on job-related skills, work performance, interpersonal skills, and career building.
  • Administrative duties through ADP Workforce Now, such as scheduling, approving time off requests and time cards, and providing detailed time card notes, as well as confirming scheduling through Google Time Check.
  • Manage staff through effective recruitment processes and ongoing training.
Inventory Management
  • Manage inventory through controlling levels stocked, overseeing all orders that may be placed by Inventory Specialists, and proper merchandise planning for quarterly reviews with management, such as min/max and data analysis.
  • Ensure that inventory is accurate by performing physical counts during vendor delivery, as per Manager\xe2\x80\x99s discretion.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries from the warehouse and local vendors by reviewing incoming deliveries for accuracy.
  • Assist with store and web order transfer of inventory requests by reviewing orders for accuracy.
Store Operations
  • Maintain financial management and accuracy while managing petty cash, change, bank duties, and expense management. Provide daily updates of store sales log and cash variances.
  • Optimize store sales and increase profitability to achieve store goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area according to procedures and safety policies to ensure the utmost health and safety of the community and employees is held.
  • Organize and prepare for special promotions, displays, and events (e.g., Seasonal sales and in-store promotions).
  • Monitor surveillance for internal and external loss prevention, including incident follow-ups.
  • Ensure that the store is maintained daily with proper cleaning and organizational practices.
Customer Management
  • Maintain the company\'s standard of customer service and professionalism, which may include resolving customer issues as they arise and overseeing cashiers.
  • Customer relationship management, which includes an analysis of current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and current customers such as VIP.
Head Office Communications
  • Work with the Retail Operations Manager to identify and suggest opportunities for improvement in procedures and/or operations.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to host local events to integrate with overall company promotional or advertising campaigns.
  • Report to Head Office with accurate and punctual submission of monthly reports to Directors.
  • Communicate with the Marketing and Purchasing Manager to suggest products and promotions from staff and customers
  • Suggest clearance list to Purchasing Manager monthly.
  • Understand quarterly location statistical data and metrics provided by the HR Department.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team/store operation
  • Knowledge in NCR, Microsoft Excel, Google Suites.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Strong knowledge of company policies and product knowledge.
  • Strong retail operations experience such as receiving inventory and front-end management.
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks within a work group, as well as lead and develop others to the next level.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Working in a retail environment with high levels of traffic (customers and merchandise).
  • Standing and walking for the majority of the shift.
  • Constant communication with customers and employees, which involves active listening.
  • Required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • May be asked to work off-site.

Education:
  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
  • Retail Management: 2 years (preferred)
  • Inventory management: 2 years (preferred)
