Job Summary


We are seeking a reliable individual to help with our bi-weekly orders for our Long Term Care/Retirement Home Dietary Department. Orders arrive Tuesday and Thursday Mornings. Hours of work are 10am-2pm.

QUALIFICATIONS:



High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a food service or dietary setting preferred Successfully completes & provides verification of certification in a registered Food Handlers Program. Recertification every 5 years. Ability to identify and resolve issues in a non-confrontational and professional manner. Ability to adapt to change. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to ~25lbs) Ability to handle cold temperatures and work in freezers for certain periods Foundation skills include the ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate orally. Ability to perform fundamental thinking skills. Ability to work well with others. Ability to continuously learn and improve. Ability to manage and organize workload. Strong time management skills. Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. Organize and store items in designated areas, ensuring proper labeling and accessibility. Rotate stock according to the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method, to minimize food wastage. Report and dispose of expired or damaged food items according to food safety regulations. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in storage areas. Clean and maintain storage areas, ensuring they are organized and sanitary. Provide support to dietary staff, as needed Receive, store and handle menu items in accordance with the best practices and the Food Premises Regulations of Canada R.R.). 1990, 562. Maintain proper inventory in specific home area Practice food safety. Follow HACCP directions. Ensure a clean and sanitized workplace. Practice proper hand washing techniques. Follow dress code. Health and Safety: wear the required personal protective equipment. Report missing PPE. Report concerns regarding unsafe or near miss incidents. Responsible to check off Lock out Tag Out audit; lock out tag out equipment or tools as needed, report problems. Commitment to Health and Safety policies and procedures. Completes cleaning and sanitizing duties. Sign off on cleaning duties. Demonstrate safe and appropriate behavior.

WORKING CONDITIONS:



Strength is required, ability to stand for long periods of time, walking, climb stepladders. Routines include repetitive movement. Frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Lifting required, carts and dollies utilized for transport. Team assistance with lifting available. Exposure to heat, noise, chemical agents.

EDUCATION:



Stock Receivers shall complete any mandatory education yearly. Stock Receivers shall obtain a certified safe food handling certification and is responsible to keep certification current every five years. Documentation provided to FSM.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
