We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Sterilization Technician to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained according to industry standards. This role is vital in supporting the clinical team by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment. Prior experience with dental procedures, medical terminology, or dental assisting is a plus, along with familiarity with electronic health records systems such as and Dentrix. The position offers an excellent opportunity for growth within the healthcare field.
Responsibilities
Properly clean, sterilize, and package dental instruments using autoclaves and other sterilization equipment
Prepare sterilized instruments for patient procedures in accordance with infection control protocols
Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and instrument inventory using electronic systems like Dentrix
Assist dental staff with setting up treatment rooms and managing supplies
Ensure compliance with RCDSO, CDA, Public Health, CDHO, ODA and other regulatory standards for infection control
Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly
Support the clinical team by managing sterilization workflows efficiently to minimize procedure delays
Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental procedures
Experience with dental assisting, including familiarity with orthodontics and pediatrics is advantageous
Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Dentrix
Understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols in a healthcare setting
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety standards
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
