Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated STEM Program Assistant to support the development and implementation of engaging science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) activities for students. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young learners, foster curiosity, and promote hands-on discovery in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about STEM education, possess excellent classroom management skills, and have experience working with children of various ages. Duties

Assist in planning and delivering STEM-focused lessons and activities tailored to underserved girls in the GTA. Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment Supervise students during hands-on experiments, group projects, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and participation Facilitate positive behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and active engagement

Requirements

Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as camp or tutoring, Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a supportive learning environment Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques Experience with STEM activities, science experiments, or technology projects is highly desirable Ability to handle emergency situations calmly; certification in first aid is preferred Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents Passion for inspiring youth through science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics initiatives
Job Types: Part-time, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
