Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled

Steel Construction Project Manager

to oversee and coordinate large-scale steel construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction management, project scheduling, and site supervision within the steel and heavy civil industries. This role requires strong leadership abilities, technical expertise in blueprint reading and schematics, and proficiency with construction management software. The Project Manager will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage steel construction projects from contract award to final completion Coordinate with engineers, detailers, fabricators, and erection contractors Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and shop drawings Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts Track project progress and ensure milestones are met Manage change orders, RFIs, and site instructions Conduct regular project meetings with internal teams and clients Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications Monitor costs and implement strategies to maintain profitability Resolve project issues and mitigate risks proactively

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in steel construction project management Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Knowledge of Canadian building codes and construction standards is an asset Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred Ontario Issued Driver's License Required
