Position Summary



We are seeking a skilled and experienced

Construction Project Manager

to lead a variety of projects across Yellowknife and the surrounding region. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in managing complex construction projects from pre-construction through to project closeout, with a strong background in both

Design Build

and

Bid-Build

delivery models.

Key Responsibilities



Ensure compliance with safety protocols, building codes, environmental regulations, and ARCAN quality standards. Manage commercial new builds, renovations, multi-family residential construction, light industrial, and restoration projects. Coordinate and oversee all phases of project execution, including planning, design development, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Provide day-to-day leadership for ARCAN's self-performing carpenters and labourers, and effectively manage subcontractors to drive performance, safety, and project success. Prepare and manage tender and contract documentation, change orders, RFIs, and progress claims. Facilitate coordination between field and office teams to ensure projects remain on time and within budget. Mentor site staff and foster a collaborative team environment. Assist in training and supporting local and Indigenous trades and laborers.

Qualifications



5-10 years of progressive experience in construction project management, preferably in northern or remote environments. Proficiency with project management software and tools (Viewpoint, MS Project, or similar). Proven success in managing a range of project types including commercial, residential, roofing/cladding, and restoration. Knowledge of construction methodologies for concrete, wood frame, engineered wood, and steel structures. Strong understanding of the design-build process and ability to work with consultants through all project phases. Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field is an asset. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites within the NWT as required.

The Compensation



The typical hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
