The employment landscape is changing, and whether you have little job experience, a lot of experience, are a college grad, or not yet completed high school, it is a tougher job market out there. Don't despair! The Youth BEAT is a
FREE ONLINE
program that can prepare you in 5 weeks to be job ready.
We can support you with:
Seeking your first job
Lacking work experience
Being laid off
Lacking education
Recent graduate stalled in your job search
Getting callbacks or interviews
AND MORE!
We are currently recruiting youth and young adults who experience mental health (such as stress, anxiety, depression, etc.) as a barrier to employment to learn new skills and help kick-start their careers. This holistic program provides a wealth of support, training, and mentorship that is tailored to meet the individual needs of our participants.
Participants benefit from
:
5 weeks of online workshops based around employability, wellness and life skills and certificate training such as First Aid, WHMIS, and other options such as Foodsafe, Serving it Right, Security, Forklift, and so much more!
Follow-up support and work placement phase with 1-1 career development coaching
Additional supports as needed including for transportation, childcare, clothing and more
Earn up to $700.00 in completion bonuses
Eligibility Criteria
Youth ages 17 to 29 years old and living in Central BC
Unemployed or precariously employed (maximum 20 per week)
Participant must be a Canadian Citizen, PR or Confirmed Refugee-
Work or Student Permits are not accepted
Experiencing some form of mental health barrier (ex: stress, anxiety, depression, etc.) to finding and/or maintaining employment
*does NOT need to be formally diagnosed
Currently not attending full time school
