Positions within the Stamping Production department FIO's skill based pay program. The skill based pay program rewards team members that have acquired certain skills within their job and a premium percentage is then added to their hourly rate of pay.
Skill Based Premium
Press Operator
Level 1 - Press Operators are evaluated and scored based on a competency matrix. If the skills are met, the team member will receive 2.5% on their base rate of pay.
Level 2 - An additional 2.5% increase on the base rate of pay will be given once eligible based on the competency matrix and has completed a minimum of 12 months in a press operator role
Team members that are trained in both positions will only be eligible for one premium.

Major Responsibilities:
Wear uniform and Personal Protective Equipment as per standards (OHSA & FIO Guidelines)
Prepare for work: Clock in before shift start and read role assignment at Zone Control Board (ZCB).
Listen to Team Leader communicating alerts and change point notes about your work. Sign to acknowledge any alerts or changes.
Look for hazards: workplace condition, equipment, and activities. Report any safety concerns.
Enter Team Member number or apply fob to sign onto a process or equipment to record your presence.
Perform process check as per criteria and record results. Report any failed checks.
Follow Standardized Work Chart (SWC) and Operator Instructions (OIC), Product Quality Confirmation (PQC) and Packing Instruction (PKI) as trained.
Call AGC or forklift for packaging. Present carts, hopper for lift trucks to exchange.
Call Team Leader if the process stops or an abnormality is found. Help investigate the cause.
Report all safety incidents: property damage, wellness concern, injury, and near miss situations.
Isolate suspect or non-conforming product; sort parts as per PQC; grind burrs and splits.
Assist the Press Operator with finger installation.
Follow downtime plan when press stops: Do "5S" tasks and/or perform TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) if trained.
Complete production reports. Compare result against target. Report to shift end meeting.
Attend communication meetings for Stamping department and Company.
Support flexible overtime schedules including early start, staying late, and weekends as required.
Demonstrate understanding of Emergency Preparedness Response Plan (EPRP).
Demonstrate understanding of FIO's Environmental Policy and participate in programs that enhance environmental performance.
Make suggestions for continual improvement "kaizen". Participate in Kaizen activities.
Train to perform 4 or more roles within the stamping department.
Train other Team Members when deemed competent by your Group Leader.
Other duties as assigned by Group Leader or Management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.

Able to perform based on the physical demand's analysis
