Overview

Do you want to make a difference in the community? Our Stakeholder & Community Relations department has a rare opportunity for two advisors to join their growing team. As a stakeholder & community relations advisor, you'll lead by example to help the organization gain a deeper understanding of stakeholder needs and wants, and channel these to other teams at WorkSafeBC.

As a key member of the stakeholder and community relations team, you'll be responsible for liaising with external stakeholders and community members while working collaboratively with operational divisions to ensure effective communication and engagement with these stakeholders.

What you'll do

As a stakeholder and community relations advisor you will:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a corporate stakeholder and community relations strategy
  • Help implement and maintain a customer relationship management (CRM) solution to manage all stakeholder interactions
  • Maintain contact with key stakeholders, ensuring consistent and meaningful engagement
  • Assist in the management and implementation of stakeholder outreach initiatives
  • Support the Corporate Sponsorship program by researching and engaging with external organizations and event organizers
  • Assist in the evaluation of sponsorship applications during the post event analysis
  • Assist operating divisions to develop and manage key stakeholder engagements, including an annual feedback mechanism to ensure those engagements are effective and aligned with the stakeholder and community relations strategy
  • Manage and maintain budgets for projects, campaigns and initiatives

We're looking for people who can:
  • Provide functional guidance and leadership to divisional and other WorkSafeBC staff when developing and implementing stakeholder and community relations initiatives
  • Lead external providers including contractors, consultants, and agencies to ensure seamless and consistent delivery of projects
  • Provide guidance and advice to team members at all levels of the organization to ensure stakeholder engagements align to WorkSafeBC's experience framework.
  • Work closely with related departments to align stakeholder and community relations with existing strategies and maintaining compelling stakeholder engagement materials
  • Prepare and present information regarding stakeholder and community relations matters to all sizes of audiences throughout WorkSafeBC
Your experience and educational background:
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree with a focus in business, marketing, communications, public relations, or other relevant discipline
  • A minimum of 6 years of recent related experience in the field of stakeholder or public relations and/or community relations
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
