About this opportunity: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Conventional Engineering and Operations, the Staff Conventional Completions Engineer will plan activities in the Completions and Well Servicing work with a focus on conventional deep basin wells. The successful candidate will also perform technical work around design, cost estimating, Completions and Well Servicing programming as well as KPI tracking and lookbacks.

This position is a full time position, located in our downtown Calgary office.

Summary

Core Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Completions Engineer role include:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve completions performance and reduce costs

  • Ensure all activities follow corporate and regulatory, safety and environmental compliance

  • Design and execute completions and well servicing programs

  • Manage budgets and ensure operational and cost reports are accurate

  • Manage tactical and long term frac water strategies

  • Monitor cost performance and cycle times to improve program efficiencies

  • Conduct completions and well servicing operations benchmarking and analysis

  • Manage tubular and wellhead basis of design documents

  • Identify and recommend technology improvements to create value

  • Liaise with field personnel to maintain project efficiency, from programming to look backs

  • Collaborate with drilling and production engineering to maximize value for the well cycle

  • Ensure completions knowledge sharing practices are developed and maintained

  • Mentor junior engineers


Experience:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registered with APEGA or 2 year Diploma

  • Minimum 12 years experience with advanced completions engineering skill-sets including:

  • Well performance prediction / nodal analysis

  • Fracture stimulation design and modeling

  • Tubing and casing movement / stress modeling

  • Horizontal multi-stage completion design

  • Coiled tubing and snubbing applications

  • Well abandonments

  • Interventions and Workovers

  • Production or drilling engineering experience is an asset

  • Demonstrated competency with Wellview

  • SAP experience helpful

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced work environment with dynamically shifting priorities and deadlines

  • Proven judgment, analytical, and business skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organization and time management skills

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team

  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities
