Summary

Core Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Completions and Well Servicing Engineer/Technologist role include:

  • Preparing of detailed well abandonment and intervention procedures and contingency plans in accordance with corporate well control and design standards
  • Completing Directive 83 offset well reviews associated with the company\xe2\x80\x99s active work within the Conventional Assets
  • Preparing planning, budgeting, and AFE completion cost estimates
  • Managing multiple, concurrent well projects, which includes providing onsite field engineering support during actual job execution and implementation
  • Providing safety leadership and daily support to completions operations personnel to ensure the safe and efficient execution of planned work activities
  • Ensuring accurate WellView field documentation of work activities and cost reporting
  • Identifying and implementing real-time performance improvements by conducting after action reviews in conjunction with fellow completion engineers, contractors and Cenovus team members
  • Providing functional guidance and technical work scopes for use in the procurement bid process for all required completions goods and services
  • Post operation close out including, reviewing performance against plan, capturing lessons learned and documenting improvement opportunities
  • Networking and knowledge sharing within Cenovus to capture lessons learned that can benefit the internal completions community
  • Work with the Asset and Production Teams to identify workover opportunities
  • Mentor junior engineers


Experience:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registered with APEGA or 2 year Diploma

  • Minimum 4 years experience with strong preference for Conventional well abandonment and well interventions and servicing engineering skill-sets including:

  • Tubing and casing movement / stress modeling

  • Service rig and Coiled tubing operations

  • Production or drilling engineering experience is an asset

  • Demonstrated competency with Wellview

  • SAP experience helpful

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced work environment with dynamically shifting priorities and deadlines

  • Proven judgment, analytical, and business skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organization and time management skills

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team

  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities
