Core Responsibilities:a,

• Work with product managers, domain architects and engineers to develop modern, high-performing, cloud-native software architectures. The nature of these project will vary from enterprise platform component development to new product development and existing product re-platforming initiatives to cloud-native architectures.a,
• Drive incubation and innovation projects including the prototyping and development of proof-of-concepts and delivery of new technology components and products to marketa,
• Providesa, expert consultation to technical leaders and team leads regarding architecture and the use of technologies with a primary focus on transactional networks. These networks are involved in the connectivity and high speed, high-volume, transmission, and processing of payments and healthcare data between Providers, Payers and Members.a,
• Expertise in AWS cloud-native technologies as well as microservices, lambda functions, and containers and their managementa,
• Engage in the development and delivery of proof-of-concept while working collaboratively with engineering leaders and their technical leads.a, a,
• Establish and implement the long-term payments architecture strategy.a,
• Lead technical aspects of sensitive business advancement initiatives such as M&A, partner evaluations, 3rd party technology assessments and alignment with technology trendsa,
• Lead tactical technology initiatives and architecture development for special or highly complex engineering projects and new engineering projects requiring senior leadershipa,
• Analyze trends within IT and provide recommendations to the enterprisea,
• Propose and develop holistic architecture designs by documenting logical architectures and use of technology including Architecture Decision Documents that clearly state the aAEURAoewhyaAEURA of the decisions that were made and in what context.a, a,
• Design maintainable platforms.a, Balance complexity with quality attributes of the system to achieve quality goals with minimal complexity and maintenance cost.a, a,
• Identify and manage the quality attributes of the systems and design architectures to support those quality attributes of current and future volume projections.a, a,
• Understand and manage technical debt where it exists, what is highest priority to fix and what are blocking factors (if any) for the business.a,
• Establish and maintain relationships and broad knowledge of the businesses, product, and technologies across the organizationa,
• Establish technical standards and ensure adherence through governancea,
• Provide general direction to senior managers and senior technical staffa,
• Lead tactical technology initiatives and architecture development for special or highly complex engineering projects and new engineering projects requiring senior leadershipa,

• Drive technology alignment, leverage, and synergy across the organization ensuring that engineering teams are aware of and aligned with each otheraAEURA(TM)s activities in order to maximize efficiency and reduce expensea,
• Establish and maintain relationships and a broad knowledge of the businesses, products and technologies across the organizationa,
• Establish technical standards and ensure adherence through governancea,
• Collaborate with the executive team and all facets of the business in order to assess and recommend technical direction and/or technologies in support of company needsa,
• Develop and communicate business/technology alignment plans to executive team, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholdersa,
• Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiativesa,
• Periodic industry contributor through active engagement in communities, white paper development, industry conferences and symposia while promoting the organizationaAEURA(TM)s objectives, services and relevant projectsa,

Requirements:a,

• Proven ability to develop modern, cloud-native architectures for e-commerce scale, SaaS-based productsa,
• Demonstrable ability to develop software, write and test code via modern programming languages and deploy cloud-native solutions. This assumes principal software engineer/developer or sr. software engineer/developer competencya,
• Proven ability to analyze and compose business and technical requirements and work with project leadership to formulate architectures and plans for executiona,
• Ability to research, compose, deliver and defend technical presentations to audiences of varying sizea,
• Ability to participate in multiple, simultaneous projects and move with agility to new projects as required.a,
• Ability to rapidly ramp-up on new technology and become oriented to new projects in order to be effective in leading and participating as a senior architect and technologista,
• Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to process complex information and deliver results and recommendations at levels consumable by both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes the ability to communicate, strategize and lead other (domain) architectsa,
• Ability to present and defend technical proposals in front of audiences of varying sizea,

Preferred Qualifications:a,

• At least 5 years of experience working as an architecta,
• 10+ yearsaAEURA(TM) experience in working with product and technical managers to coordinate the development and delivery of proof-of-conceptsa,
• 10+ yearsaAEURA(TM) experience in analyzing business and technical requirements/data and working with project leadership to formulate architectures and plans for executiona,
• 10+ yearsaAEURA(TM) experience in researching, composing, delivering and defending technical presentations to audiences of varying sizea,
• At least 5 years analyzing business and technical requirements and data and working with project leadership to formulate cloud-native application architectures and plans for executiona,
• Proven planning skills and the ability to work with limited supervision and as part of an executive teama,
• Ability to engage with and bootstrap initiatives via hands-on engineering support including software development/coding, 3rd party tool analysis, provisioning and configuration is a plusa,
• Very articulate and polished communicator both through oral and in written forma,
• Experience coordinating and managing distributed teams of varying size and skill set and working with or as part of an executive team/matrixed organizationa,

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering. A master's degree in an IT engineering field is highly desirable.a,
