YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



As our next Staff Accountant, you'll play an important role in delivering tailored, high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to our loyal client base. You will be responsible for:

Prepare financial statements for individuals, corporations, estates, and trusts in line with accounting standards and client's needs. Maintain and organize electronic working paper files for compilation, review, and audit engagements, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Prepare income tax returns and information for individuals, corporations, and trusts, helping clients stay compliant and on track. Communicate with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on behalf of our clients to follow up on corporate, GST, and payroll accounts and resolve outstanding issues. Provide direct support to the Accounting & Tax Supervisor and Partners by preparing files, contributing to client engagements, and assisting with reviews or audits as needed. Apply the CPA Canada Handbook to ensure strong accounting presentation, meet accounting standards, and document work thoroughly. Contribute to corporate accounting and estate files, applying technical knowledge while customizing accounting solutions to each client's needs. Foster long-term, trust-based relationships with thoughtful and responsive service to second and third generation clients.

YOUR BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS



Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Commerce, Accounting or Finance. 4 to 5 years of public practice experience working on diverse engagements. Successfully completed the CPA Program or have a status of CPA Finalist. Technically proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), Engagement, and CanTax. Superior problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen eye for details and big-picture thinking. You are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a collaborative and tight-knit CPA firm. Strong verbal and written communicator that shares information clearly and effectively. You have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships. An independent worker that thrives in dynamic work environments with minimal supervision. Organized, proactive, and adaptable when managing competing priorities and tight deadlines. You are self-sufficient, motivated, resourceful, and committed to growth and development. Proven ability driving efficiency to deliver consistent, high-quality accounting solutions to clients.
