Job Description

Robert Half has an immediate need for a talented Staff Accountant. Candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting and financial tasks for our client. This permanent Staff Accountant position is located in the Waterloo, Ontario, area.

What you get to do every single day

- Use various methods to add financial information to journals and ledgers

- Assist with general accounting tasks, including G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, and other ad hoc projects

- Create statements and reports that require the use of a number of sources

- Complete accounts payable with vendor invoices and disbursement filing and with A/P invoice matching & filing

- Code documents using the proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

- Reconcile discrepancies, and prepare correction documents as needed, by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts

- Complete Accounts Receivable by processing daily invoices/credit, applying cash receipts, and helping with collection of past due balances

- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

- Bank reconciliations experience

- Proven knowledge of Reconcile Balance Sheet Account

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

- Solid understanding of Sage Intacct is preferred

- Well-founded grasp of general ledger

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience

- Monthly Bank Reconciliation experience highly desired

- Accurate, swift, data entry abilities

- 2+ years of accounting experience required

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus

- Degree or diploma in Accounting or related field preferred
